Prop and Costume Rentals

All persons, productions and LLC's wishing to rent props from Cop Prop Rentals of New York (CPR-NY) must complete and submit our "Rental Agreement Form" and "New Project Information Form" found below on this page prior to rental. The renter must submit via email the required supporting documentation for rentals, to include proof of insurance, proof of municipal issued film permit or proof of a legally binding agreement from a governmental film office before a contract will be approved by CPR-NY. 

Rentals will only be provided to persons 18 years of age or older who have met the legal requirements and completed the rental agreement. All rental request must be made, submitted and approved at least two business days prior to date of rental.

In compliance with NYS & NYC regulations and laws, proof of a Valid NYC Film Permit will be required for ALL uniform, badge and prop weapon rentals taking place in the five boroughs of NYC. 

Additional documentation may be requested for exterior shots and locations.

For production rentals outside of the five boroughs of NYC, please contact us for details based on your location.

For rental request taking place on college or university campuses, or school grounds - we will require formal proof of permission from the Office of the Dean of Students or the Director of Public Safety for the campus in addition to the necessary permits and certificate of insurance.

For all rentals including simulated firearms and prop weapons we will require the name and contact information of the set armorer or prop master. If your production does not have one, we can provide this service.

We WILL NOT rent any uniform costumes, costume items or prop weapons without proper  proof of permit or authorization for filming with these items. Failure to provide these requirements will result in a cancellation of contract and rental.

COVID COMPLIANCE

January 2021:

Due to COVID-19, we will not provide Same-Day or Short Notice Rentals upon request outside of a 40 mile radius of our facility (zip code 12771). 

No deliveries or pick ups will be made to areas identified as COVID-19 Red or Orange Zones by the local Department of Health or other official agency.

Pick Up & Drop Off of props can be arranged at a designated location outside of those areas. 

All uniform costume rentals will require wardrobe or talent to provide their own shoes, socks and undergarments to include tee shirt.

CONSULTATIONS

We will happily schedule a 15 to 30 minute initial consultation call with you to discuss your production needs, requirements and to assist you with the services we can provide. Consultations, technical advisory assistance, services and other request after the initial consultation are subject to service hour billing based on the services provided and duration.

CUSTOM SERVICES

Location / On-Set Service:

We can be contracted for Daily, Weekly or Production Long projects and Crew Positions. 

Service rates are negotiable. Contact us for additional information.

Tier Rates must be negotiated prior to any services being rendered.

Custom Orders and Fabrication Work: 

 We can custom tailor most aspects of the uniforms to meet your production needs. We have several direct purchase agreements with major suppliers in the uniform and tactical equipment industry. This allows us to purchase the exact items you need, have them shipped to us usually in less than two business days, modify them to your request and have them on set shortly thereafter without significantly impacting your budget.

Custom Orders will be billed to the client and require a 50% deposit at time of order.

Custom Uniform Fabrication services will be billed at either an hourly rate or daily rate plus materials. Rates will be agreed upon prior to the start of any order or fabrication.

Custom Designs and Digital Images:

To assist with legal and clearance requirements, we can provide services to create one of a kind production specific logos, patches and insignias for your costume, prop and set dressing needs. 

Embroidered Patch production will usually require three weeks from concept / art approval to final product.

Temporary Patch Overlays can be provided within 48 hours of concept / art approval.

Magnetic and Adhesive pieces can be produced in house. (up to certain sizes)

Some custom items (badges, collar brass and 3D Printed Props) may require the services of our affiliate fabrication shops and craftsman which will affect the production time.

Research and Production Assistance:

 We are always available to answer your questions and provide assistance to your Wardrobe and Prop Coordinators. 

For projects and productions requiring extensive research time and labor, we will not provide these services without a prior agreement for compensation of our time, intellectual properties (IP) and services. 

Discounted Rental Terms are available to student film makers, Nonprofit Charities, Veteran Owned / Operated Businesses, First Responders and frequent customers.

We do not post rental prices on our site due to the specifics that each production has and we will work with you to find the most cost effective solution to your needs. Once we know your needs, we will provide you with a price breakdown of items, rental durations and package options to meet your budget and requirements. 

We have the flexibility to provide you with one day, short term and long term rental options.

Long Distance / International Rentals:

Long Distance (US) and International Rentals are available. Renters will be required to pay for all shipping fees, tariffs and taxes that may be imposed on the items being rented and shipped. 

Proof of insurance will be required and should include the transit time of the rental items to and from your facility or location. 

Clients will be responsible to ensure that the items they are renting are in full compliance with local laws and ordnances. 

Deposits will be required for all International rentals.

CPRNY is not responsible for any delays encountered by the shipping company once the items have been delivered to the approved carrier for transit on or before the agreed upon shipment date.

The rental period for costumes and props will end once confirmation has been received that the items are in transit or in the possession of the approved carrier service.

Cancellations / Work Stops / Changes in Order or Services:

in the event of a cancellation, request for work stoppage, a change in your order or requested service, you will be invoiced for all services rendered up to the time that your notification is received. The initial invoice will be closed out once payment is rendered and any new or additional services requested and provided will be billed on a new invoice.

Please note that all invoices and services are NET 30, with full payment due within 30 days of the invoiced date. Any payments not made within that period will be subject to a 15% late fee for every 15 day period from that date until payment is received. Productions requiring alternate payment schedules must notify us of their payment terms prior to delivery of goods or services.
